Combat in the game can be approached in two ways. The first is with the use of traditional weapons, including a sword and shield combo, two-handed axes, and bow and arrow for ranged fights. The other is by wielding the mystical arts, in which you’ll learn and use magic spells to deal elemental damage to foes. Loot gear and materials to take back to your ship to craft new items. You can also design and upgrade your ship any way you want.

The level of freedom extends to the world itself, comprising highly destructible environments that you can shape and alter for your own ends.
